The Morgan Education Foundation is dedicated to strengthening education in Morgan County by uniting the community in acquiring and directing resources that enhance educational experiences and support students in their pursuit of excellence.



Established in 2005, the Foundation operates as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, working in harmony with the Morgan County School District to provide funding and programs that elevate learning opportunities for students and teachers. Through generous contributions from businesses, individuals, and community partners, the Foundation supports classroom innovation, student scholarships for higher-education, teacher grants, and district-wide initiatives.

Trustees

Michele Wilkinson

Michele Walker Wilkinson is a lifelong resident of Morgan, Utah, where she and her husband, Doug, have proudly raised their four children. With over 20 years of dedicated service in the Morgan School District, Michele has contributed meaningfully as an educator, coach, and volunteer, fostering strong connections within the community.


A graduate of Morgan High School, Michele continued her education by earning an Associate of Science degree from Ricks College, followed by a Bachelor of Science degree from Weber State University. Her academic background has informed her commitment to lifelong learning and her passion for supporting educational excellence in Morgan.


Her dedication to youth development is evident in her active involvement with educational initiatives throughout the Morgan community. Michele has served on the Morgan Scholarship Board since 2018 and joined the Morgan Education Foundation in 2022, where she supports programs that broaden academic opportunities for students across the district. In her new role as Director of the Foundation, Michele looks forward to advancing its mission and expanding its impact for the benefit of students, educators, and families alike.


Michele is deeply invested in preserving the values and traditions that make Morgan special. As the community continues to grow, she’s passionate about fostering teamwork and encouraging active involvement from residents to help enhance opportunities for local schools and promote lifelong learning. Michele believes that when we each give our very best, it strengthens the entire community and helps build a brighter future for all who call this beautiful valley home.

Mandy Wallace

Mandy Wallace is a 20 year resident of Mountain Green, where she lives with her husband Seth, 5 children and 2 large child-like dogs. Due to the growth in our valley over the last 20

years, she has had the somewhat unique opportunity to have her children attend all 5 public schools in Morgan County. This has given her great insights into the various strengths and values at each of our beautiful schools.


 Mandy holds a Bachelors Degree in Sales &; Marketing from Weber State University and has worked for over 20 years in the Real Estate industry while raising her children. This has afforded her opportunities to serve the community in many capacities over the years, including on many PTSO committees, community council, the MHS scholarship board, as a Republican caucus delegate and of course, volunteering in countless classrooms.


 Her current assignments on the 

school board are to serve as the Co-Chair of the Morgan Education Foundation, as well as the Chair of the Sex Ed Committee. Serving on the

school board has also offered various educational opportunities attending state and national level board trainings, volunteering as a Joint Legislative Committee delegate and attending the USBA Delegates assembly where she has learned so much about the legislative process and its effect on our public schools. She looks forward to continuing to serve the people of Morgan

George Tripp

George Tripp is a father of six, Morgan sports fan and pediatrician living in Mountain Green.  He and his wife Kimberli moved to Mountain Green in 2013 and have loved becoming a part of the community.  They are both graduates of Grantsville High School and after finding work in northern Utah sought out Morgan county as a place they could identify with and connect to.  George has a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Utah State and a degree in Medicine from Creighton University.  An eight year Air Force career took their family from Omaha Nebraska to San Antonio Texas to Hawaii where George saw military dependent kids on base at Pearl Harbor-Hickam.  After completing his Air Force service George and Kimberli moved home to Utah where George took a job with Tanner clinic in Roy.  They added kids at each stop on their journey they range from age 20 down to age 10.  All six kids are either graduated from Morgan High or are headed in that direction.  George has served on the Morgan High Scholarship board for four years and the Morgan High Community Council for two where he is currently Chair.  He looks forward to learning about the Morgan Education Fund and helping out there.

Our History

Morgan High School has an honored history of valuing academic excellence. Throughout the years a select number of students from each graduating class have excelled in the classroom and have been rewarded for their excellence through institutional and corporate scholarships.



These young men and women have advanced their skills at colleges, universities and trade schools across the United States. The Morgan Valley, Utah, and the nation have benefited from their brilliance and dedication. Many other graduates have also moved on in positive directions, earning degrees and certifications without the benefit or recognition that arises from scholarship programs. 


1994

Recognizing the Need for More Scholarships

During the annual awards evening in May, community members noticed that very few graduates were receiving scholarships, and some were receiving multiple awards. This sparked a conversation about increasing opportunities for more students.

1994

Official Incorporation

With help from Morgan County Attorney Kelly Wright, the board adopted official articles of incorporation and bylaws. Funds were managed through the district’s business office and kept in a dedicated, interest-bearing account.

1995

Scholarship Board Established

In August, letters of invitation were sent to community members and school personnel to form the first “Morgan High School Scholarship Board.” The first official meeting was held on September 26, 1995, with the goal of increasing applications for scholarships, admissions, and financial aid, while also raising funds for students without awards.

1996-1997

Students Join the Board

Student representatives were added to the board for the first time, ensuring that the voices of current seniors were included in scholarship planning and outreach. The first students to join the board were Devany Browning, Cami Martinez, Taylor Smith, and Amber Williams.

1999

Perpetual Scholarship Fund Launched

The board began a perpetual scholarship fund with a goal of reaching $100,000 in a separate investment account. Interest from the fund would be awarded annually to deserving seniors.

2005

Fundraising in full swing

The Board launched what would become a long-standing tradition—the Tailgate Dinner fundraiser. Held in conjunction with the homecoming football game, this event was designed to raise awareness and generate support for local scholarships. During the early 2000s, multiple fundraising efforts focused on achieving the goal of establishing a perpetual scholarship fund, ensuring lasting support for future Morgan High graduates. 

2012

Honoring our Founders

The Sherie Porter Wright Memorial Scholarship for Exceptional Service was created in memory of one of our founding members, the Sherie Porter Wright Memorial Scholarship honors Sherie’s legacy of compassion, dedication, and service following her courageous battle with cancer. This unique scholarship is available to any graduating senior, regardless of other scholarships they may have received. It recognizes students who, like Sherie, have gone above and beyond in serving and giving back to their community.

2020

Online Applications

 In response to COVID-19 restrictions and with a focus on long-term sustainability, the Morgan High School Scholarship Board introduced online applications for the first time in 2020. This transition marked a significant step forward in making the scholarship process more accessible and efficient for students and families.

Expansion of Stackable Scholarships

The Scholarship Board introduced its “Distinct” scholarships to broaden the impact of community support for Morgan High School graduates. These scholarships, modeled after the Sherie Porter Wright Memorial Scholarship for Exceptional Service, are open to all students—regardless of other institutional awards they may have received. This initiative reflects the Board’s recognition of the vital role community involvement plays in the future success of its graduates.
